UJS Language Institute has many teachers and administration staff who have experience in studying abroad and/or working for Japanese companies. It also has qualified professional staff to provide student career consultations. AT UJS Language Institute we believe that by creating an environment where teachers and administration staff can work together as a team, we can provide excellent lessons and services to students.

Greeting from the Principal

Since its founding in 1986, UJS Language Institute has been accepting many students from various countries around the world and focusing on developing students who can cooperate and improve one another as a member of society.
Learners’ needs are diverse and are diversifying more with time.
All UJS staffs are keen on educating learners to adapt to Japanese society with respecting for each other’s culture for getting a step closer to their future goals.

Teachers

We have many teachers from various backgrounds. They don’t only teach Japanese, but also do their utmost to support you in order for you to enjoy and enrich your study abroad life. We also provide guidance such as practice of interviews and correction of compositions necessary for going on to university or vocational school.

Administration Staff

There are no worries even if you don’ speak Japanese. We have many administration staff with lots of international experience, and they provide thorough support for your study abroad life from enrollment to graduation in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.

UJS Believes in Your Efforts Scholarship 

Since its opening in 1986, UJS Language Institute has sent many graduates to society. The students who have worked hard and made excellent achievements during their study at UJS succeed not only in Japan but also in the world. Language learning results depend on how much you try, but the path to achieving your goals has a lot of challenges and setbacks, and there are many hardships. UJS Language Institute established this scholarship because it wanted to be a school that supports “hard-working people” who face each issue sincerely and continue to strive for their dreams.

Conditions and Requirements
  1. The candidate must have been a UJS student for 6 months or longer.
  2. The candidate’s school attendance rate for the last 6 months leading to the review period must be 97 % or higher.
  3. The candidate must have achieved the following results at minimum in one of term-end examinations in the last 6 months.
    Beginner Class A or above in all 8 areas including the total result
    Intermediate Beginner Class A or above in all 8 areas including the total result
    Intermediate Class A or above in all 8 areas including the total result
    Upper Intermediate Class A or above in all 8 areas including the total result
    Advanced Class A or above in all 7 areas including the total result
  4. School attendance rate of 95% or higher must have been maintained since the entry to school and after the scholarship offer notice is given.
  5. The candidate has clear purposes for his/her Japanese study.
  6. The candidate will be able to maintain the requirements 3, 4 and 5 above after grant of the scholarship.

※ If the candidate does not meet the requirements above after the scholarship money is given, the candidate may be asked to return it.
※ The candidate is allowed to get this scholarship on top of another scholarship.

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students

The candidate will be recommended by UJS on the ground of his/her high attendance rate and excellent results. After passing selection he/she will receive the scholarship of \30,000 per month for 12 months.

Conditions and Requirements

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)

1.Excellent Academic Record and Exemplary Study Attitude (The candidate must have a GPA of 2.30 or higher in the academic year previous to the year for which the scholarship is granted and maintain the same GPA during the scholarship period.)

2.After the scholarship is granted, the candidate must agree to cooperate with the career path survey conducted by JASSO through the Japanese language educational institution.

3.Allowance (excluding tuition fee) received by the candidate must not exceed an average of 90,000 yen per month.

  1. If the candidate has a financial supporter in Japan, his/her annual income must be less than 5 million yen.
  2. The candidate must not be receiving a scholarship that cannot be combined with other scholarships.
  3. The candidate must not be receiving support under JASSO’s international students support program.
  4. The candidate must be aiming to pursue higher education such as university.

Procedures for deciding grant receivers: We recommend designated number of students to JASSO after UJS’s internal selection procedures are conducted (UJS’s criteria for first round of selection: attendance rate, evaluation of overall participation and performance and an essay. Criteria for second round of selection: an interview)

Kyoritsu Maintenance Scholarship

We recommend UJS students of Asian nationality to Kyoritsu International Foundation who have aspiration and are excellent both academically and as a person. After passing the foundation’s selection procedure the successful candidates receive a scholarship of 60,000 yen per month for 12 months.

Conditions and Requirements
  1. Privately financed students who have an Asian Nationality.
  2. Studying in the current school for at least one year.
  3. Being healthy and excellent both academically and as a person and hold to his/her principles.
  4. Must be able to submit essays, as a current state report, by due dates if selected.
  5. Being able to attend a scholarship awarding ceremony.
The candidate may receive another scholarship beside this one as long as it is \50,000 or less per month.
Procedures for Deciding Grant Receivers We recommend designated number of students to the foundation after UJS’s internal selection procedures are conducted. The selection committee of the foundation decides receivers based on their application documents submitted. (UJS’s criteria for first round of selection: attendance rate, evaluation of overall participation and performance and an essay. Criteria for second round of selection: an interview)

LSH Asia Scholarship

We recommend a student of Asian nationality who understands Mr. Lee Soo Hyun’s aspiration of becoming a “bridge” between his home country and Japan, has the same aim and are studying hard.

A scholarship of 100,000 yen is granted to the receiver for five months’ support.

Conditions and Requirements
  1. The candidate must be students of Asian nationality who have a student visa.
  2. The candidate must have been in the school that recommends him/her for 3 months or longer as at July 1 and is going to stay there for another 6 months from the date.
  3. Attendance rate before July 1 must be 90% or above.
  4. Learning attitude is exemplary, and it must be kept up after grant of the scholarship.
  5. The candidate must understand Mr. Lee Soo Hyun’s aspirations and study Japanese aiming to become a “bridge” between his/her home country and Japan in the future.
  6. The candidate doesn’t currently receive any scholarship and will not while on this scholarship.
Procedures for Deciding Grant Receivers We recommend one student to the organization after UJS’s internal selection procedures are conducted. Panels of the organization’s selection committee and board of directors make the final decision. (UJS’s criteria for first round of selection: attendance rate, evaluation of overall participation and performance and an essay. Criteria for second round of selection: an interview)

Others (Prize for Perfect Attendance in Every Term)

\3,000 worth of Quo Card (gift card) is given to the students who keep 100% attendance rate throughout the term at the end of each term.
